Bookkeeping and Financial Reconstruction for Attorneys in Las Vegas
Sunderland Valley Enterprises rebuilds and cleans up business books for attorneys and their clients in Las Vegas. When a divorce, probate, bankruptcy, or partnership dispute involves a business with missing, late, or unreliable records, we reconstruct the books from source documents and deliver financial statements your team can rely on. Every file is prepared by Jacqueline Oberst, a former CFO and Certified Exit Planning Advisor.

When a case depends on books that do not exist yet
Many small businesses run for years on a bank balance and a tax return. That works until a court, a trustee, or opposing counsel asks for financial statements. At that point the business may have a QuickBooks file nobody trusts, months of uncategorized transactions, personal spending mixed with business spending, or no books at all.
Your case timeline does not wait for the records to catch up. We take the documents that do exist, including bank and credit card statements, payroll reports, loan statements, and tax returns, and turn them into a complete set of books for the period your case requires.
What we deliver
- Reconstructed books for the months or years in question, built from bank and credit card statements
- A cleaned-up QuickBooks file with every account reconciled
- Profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for each period
- A general ledger with transaction detail your expert or the court can trace back to source documents
- Schedules of owner draws, distributions, loans to and from owners, and personal expenses paid by the business
- An organized document file that shows what each number is based on
- A written summary of what was missing, what assumptions were made, and what could not be verified
Case types we support
| Case type | How the books are used |
|---|---|
| Divorce | Books for a business owned by one or both spouses, so income and business activity are documented for the period the court is looking at. |
| Probate and estates | Books brought current for a business whose owner has died, so the personal representative can report, operate, sell, or close it. |
| Bankruptcy | Current, accurate books that support the schedules and the periodic financial reporting a business bankruptcy requires. |
| Partnership and shareholder disputes | A neutral, documented record of income, expenses, distributions, and owner transactions when partners disagree about the numbers. |

Why attorneys work with a former CFO
Reconstruction requires judgment. Someone has to decide how to treat a transfer between accounts, a payment to a family member, or a deposit with no description. Jacqueline Oberst served as CFO of two companies and holds a master’s degree in data analytics. She has prepared financial statements for owners, lenders, and buyers, and she documents every decision so the next reader can follow it.
Her Certified Exit Planning Advisor credential adds an understanding of how business value is built and measured, which matters when a business is one of the largest assets in a case.
Frequently asked questions
Financial reconstruction is the process of rebuilding a business’s books from source documents such as bank statements, credit card statements, payroll records, and tax returns. The result is a complete, reconciled set of books and financial statements for a period where reliable records did not exist.
We can rebuild books for as many years as bank and credit card statements are available. Banks can usually supply several years of statements on request, and we tell you early if a gap in the documents will limit what can be supported.
We can usually begin as soon as the first set of statements arrives. Tell us your filing or hearing date on the first call and we will plan the work around it.
Both. Some firms engage us directly and others have the client engage us. We follow the attorney’s direction on communication and on who receives drafts.
We are based in Las Vegas and work with attorneys across Clark County, including Henderson, Summerlin, and North Las Vegas. The work is done from secure digital records, so we also support firms elsewhere in Nevada.
